Primitive Skills Workshop: Atlatls
Workshop participants will learn the history of the atlatl, then learn to make spears and throwers using modern and primitive tools
If you were a hunter during the Stone Age, you probably used an atlatl. Atlatls are primitive tools that would have allowed you to throw your spear harder and farther, enabling you to kill large game - like wooly mammoths. Workshop participants will learn the history of the atlatl, then learn to make spears and throwers using modern and primitive tools. They will end the day with spear-throwing. Instructor and primitive skills expert Doug Meyer will display his large collection of atlatls during the workshop.
