Dr. Nelsa Ciapponi, who recently completed a three-year study program with the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM), is welcoming patients at her new office in the Forum at Ballantyne, 11220 Elm Lane, Suite 200, in Charlotte.

Dr. Ciapponi is board certified in both Family Medicine and Integrative Holistic Medicine and recognized as the first doctor in Charlotte of this distinction; she isa certified Functional Medicine practitioner, joining only approximately 670 others with this certification. She is a graduate of Duke University and completed her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Connecticut.

Ciapponi has practiced family medicine for 27-plus years and has a long-standing interest in holistic, preventive medicine which she actively combines with conventional medicine in her practice. She has undergone additional training in nutrition, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy and has a special interest in utilizing evidence-based methods to promote health and wellness.
