Ahlara International, in Mooresville, North Carolina, will host two major upcoming special events about timely topics that affect home and family. Laura Mock, a local educator and spiritual counselor, will present “THRIVE ~ How to Help Your Children THRIVE in a Fearful World” from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on September 15, and three outstanding local teachers will combine their intuitive gifts in separate presentations in “A Call to Consciousness” from 1 to 4 p.m. on October 5.

Mock’s introductory session will be an overview of her conviction that the first step to empower youngsters is to empower ourselves including how to spot their current mission(s), connect with them on a conscious soul level and steps moving forward ($23).

Next month, speakers and their topics will be Katie Sutton of Zen Academy on “Heal Your Energy, Heal Your Life;” Ed Carlton, psychic medium, on “Your Spiritual Vibration;” and Susan Reynolds, astrologer, on “Conscious Astrology.” The ongoing vision for the events is to present various local speakers on a regular basis to bring educational, uplifting and inspirational topics to the area ($30).
