Overeaters Anonymous Holds Regular Meetings

After a drought of in-person Overeaters Anonymous (OA) meetings during Covid-19 when such events moved to Zoom, there are now several in-person meetings taking place throughout the Charlotte region on a regular basis.
Charlotte’s one in-person meeting, which meets at noon on Saturdays at the Anuvia Center (100 Billingsley Road, second floor, Pine Room) is nearly one year old. An in-person meeting started last February in the Fort Mill/Southwest Charlotte area at 10:30 a.m. on Monday mornings at Grace Presbyterian Church (2955 West Highway 160, Room 7). Other weekly meetings are currently taking place in Rock Hill, Lincolnton, Denver and Black Mountain.
An ongoing Wednesday night session is in the planning stages and will be held in Southeast Charlotte/Ballantyne. Others are being planned for Gastonia and Concord. All are free and open to the public. There are also several other special events planned to take place throughout the region this year.
Overeaters Anonymous offers a program of recovery from compulsive overeating, food restricting, and other obsessive food behaviors using the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of OA, which are patterned after those of Alcoholics Anonymous. Meetings like these and other tools provide fellowship and support to those that struggle.
