Natural Awakenings Charlotte

This North Carolina Town is Open for Business

Dillsboro is 50 miles west of Asheville; it did not experience the devastating flooding that some of western North Carolina experienced from Hurricane Helene and the Dillsboro Inn is open for business. Heavily affected areas north and south of Asheville are also opening and need tourist traffic. This summer is a great time to explore the riches of the state and support local businesses.

Owner TJ Walker says, “Book your summer getaway or vacation at the Dillsboro Inn, where the Blue Ridge Mountains meet the Smokies. It is conveniently located to major highways throughout the Pisgah and Nantahala forests, historical sites and activities. It is a hiker’s paradise. The Inn is walking distance to many restaurants, craft shops and the Dillsboro Rafting Company, offering white water rafting.”

The Inn is situated on the Tuckasegee River with world-class fishing and recreational access to rivers, as well as several mountain watersheds. Concerts on the creek on Fridays, farmers and craft markets on Saturdays and campfires at night are part of a three-block walk through Dillsboro’s riverfront park, restaurants and shops.

Walker has spent summers in the mountains all his life, a horticulturalist for over 50 years and a yoga instructor for over 25 years at the Inn, he is schooled in Stress and Trauma Release Yoga and offers yoga in the riverfront third floor studio which is available for guests to undo and unwind on weekdays and Saturdays.

The Dillsboro Inn is located at 146 N. River Rd., in Dillsboro. For more information, call/text 828-507-3113 or visit DillsboroInn.com. Reservations by phone call only.
