Overeaters Anonymous to Present IDEA Workshop

Overeaters Anonymous will host an International Day of Experiencing Abstinence (IDEA) from compulsive eating in-person workshop from 12:30 to 3 p.m. on November 15 at St. Stephen United Methodist Church, in Charlotte. The public is invited to the free event to enjoy an afternoon of games, speakers and fellowship as well as to learn more about the program generally.

IDEA Day is celebrated the third full weekend in November and encourages members worldwide to begin or reaffirm their abstinence from compulsive eating. This event provides a fun way for community members to learn about and engage with Overeaters Anonymous and its offerings.

Overeaters Anonymous, offering resources and community to anyone that wants to stop eating compulsively, provides a program of recovery from compulsive overeating, food restricting and other obsessive food behaviors using the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of OA, which are patterned after those of Alcoholics Anonymous. Beside this and other events held throughout the year, several in-person meetings take place every week throughout the Charlotte region to provide continual fellowship and support to participants.

Location: 6800 Sardis Rd., Charlotte. For more information, visit PiedmontIntergroup.org. For meeting information, visit Tinyurl.com/OAPiedmontMeetings.
