Kings Mountain Preserve Holds Earth Day Celebration
Kings Mountain Preserve, in Blacksburg, South Carolina, will conduct a special Earth Day celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 25. Attendees will enjoy a birding presentation, open hiking and light appetizers, all while slowing down and learning about the preserve’s local wildlife.
Another highlight of the event will be tours of their 56-acre conservation burial ground that is only 20 minutes from historic Kings Mountain State Park. As the area’s only green cemetery and the East Coast’s first combination conservation burial ground and funeral home, the facility boasts majestic hardwoods, dogwoods and Kings Creek which runs throughout the property.
The owners are privileged to be partnered with the Upstate Forever Land Trust which protects our beautiful land and water by enforcing a Perpetual Conservation Easement, ensuring its use for future generations to enjoy.
