Annual Unitarian of Lake Norman Auction Promises a Groovy, Fun Time for All
The Unitarian of Lake Norman will present their annual fundraising auction beginning at 5 p.m. on May 9 at Bailey’s Glen Clubhouse, in Cornelius, North Carolina. The theme for the event is Peace, Love and Bid, so clothing, items and more that harken back to the hippie days of the 1960s and 1970s will be especially celebrated.
Attendees will find bargains galore, good food, wine and beer at low prices as well as onsite entertainment. All the items are donated, and all of the proceeds go to the building fund and operating budget for the Unitarians. Both a silent and a live auction will be held.
Unitarianism grew out of Judeo/Christian teachings, drawing inspiration from the world’s great teachers and philosophers. Committed to spiritual growth, followers also believe one’s religious belief is personal as long as one isn’t pressuring others to conform to their beliefs. Their community encompasses believers from the major religions, agnostics and atheists.
They believe in social justice and social action, helping feed the homeless, picking up trash on a sponsored street in Davidson, building fences to get dogs off chains and encouraging people to vote (non-partisan). They are committed to making a better world and believe we are here for each other. All are welcome.
Auction Location: 12100 Meetinghouse Dr., Cornelius, NC. For more information, call 980-689-0630 or visit UULakeNorman.org.
