Ask Congress to Stop “Drive-Through” Mastectomies
Dec 02, 2008 05:54PM
The bill will require insurance companies to cover a minimum 48-hour hospital stay for patients undergoing a mastectomy. Women are often required to go home just a few hours after surgery, against the wishes of their doctor, still groggy from anesthesia and sometimes with drainage tubes still attached.
This act still needs your support. Lifetime Television has put the bill on their web page with a petition drive to show support. Sign the petition and urge the Senate and the president to take the next steps to pass this bill.
