Environmental Progress Might Depend on Your Vote

The Environmental Defense Action Fund (or EDF Action) is seeking to have as many people who care about the environment as possible to vote in this year’s midterm elections on November 6.

All polling locations in Mecklenburg County will be open on November 6 from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. One-stop early voting, which allows people to register and vote the same day, runs through November 3.

According to EDF Action, the environment is on the ballot this year in the leaders we elect to take action on key issues that affect our health and the quality of life in our communities. It’s vital to research and vote for candidates who will champion causes like providing safe drinking water to North Carolinians, clean energy jobs and business development, and planning for the effects of sea level rise and other natural disasters.

Visit vt.ncsbe.gov/OSSite for locations and hours of early voting sites. To vote on election day, find your polling place at vt.ncsbe.gov/PPLkup or call 704-336-2133. Contact Scott Sellers at [email protected] for more information. Connect on Facebook at Recess of Action - North Carolina.
