This year marks the city of Charlotte’s 250^th anniversary. To mark this milestone, a yearlong celebration invites all Charlotteans to commemorate the city’s past, honor the present and imagine a successful future filled with hope and opportunity for everyone.

On December 3, the official anniversary of the city’s founding, everyone is invited to join in the excitement. A noon event at Trade & Tryon will feature music, cake and remarks from city leaders. Also on that day, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library branches will mark the anniversary at all branches, and the celebration will continue with special surprises at all Charlotte-Mecklenburg School campuses.

CLT250 crescendos in May 2019 with Charlotte Shout!, a multi-day food, art, music and innovation festival that promises to become a defining asset for the community. Every neighborhood, school, community group and house of worship is encouraged to mark CLT250 in their own way.
