Virtual Gastric Band Therapy at Kent-Cook Institute at The Nook

The Virtual Gastric Band, a weight-loss program pioneered by Sheila Granger, is now being provided at The Kent-Cook Institute at The Nook, in Davidson. The program, under the leadership of Carolyn Sheehan, CHMt, CRM, Master Hypnotherapist, is being offered in four group sessions that foster camaraderie and support beginning at 10 a.m. on February 3, 10, 17 and 24.

Many people of all shapes and sizes find long-term solutions to their weight problems with Virtual Gastric Band therapy, a non-surgical technique which uses the power of hypnosis to retrain the individual to be satisfied with smaller portions of food. Clinical hypnotherapy convinces the mind that the stomach is full after a smaller amount with no desire to eat more. Like flicking a switch in the brain, it changes one’s attitude towards food and helps them regain control over cravings and bad habits. Feedback shows increased willpower and no need for the person to deprive themselves of the foods they enjoy.

Sheehan, the only hypnotherapist in North Carolina certified in the Granger weight-loss program, has a 98 percent success rate with this and smoking cessation programs.

Cost for all sessions: $650 (actual procedure: $10,000). Location: 400 North Harbor Place Dr., Ste. C, Davidson. For more information or to register for sessions, call 704-896-3111 or visit KentCookInstitute.com.
