SHiFT Charlotte Celebrates 10 Years of Health and Wellness

The tenth annual SHiFT Charlotte will continue the tradition of gathering wellness-minded people for two days of healing, holistic arts, mind-body-spirit connection exploration and sessions led by local experts on wellness and self-care on March 22 and 23 at the Oasis Shriner’s facility.

“Ten years ago we had an idea to bring people together to celebrate the businesses and people in our local community. SHiFT Charlotte was created for people who want to live a mindful, authentic and empowered life,” says event founder Lori Ives-Godwin. “We are so pleased that we have been able to sustain and grow and continue bringing together some of the city’s most visionary speakers, teachers, healers and practitioners to help guests explore steps we can all take to be healthy and well—mind, body and spirit.”

Presentation topics and expert speakers on March 23 will be Harnessing Ancient Wisdom in Modern Times: A Path to Growth with Gina Spriggs, Foods & Rituals That Promote a Calm Body and Clear Mind with Kelley Gardner, The Power of Saying No with Holly Hughes, The Journey from Self to Soul with Court Creeden, Connection: A Sound Healing Activation with Katie Jo Sutton and Josh Vogt, Are We Trapped by Our Own Destiny? with Antonio Sangio and Tips and Tools for Astral Projection with Jessica Mangum.

On Friday night, there’ll be an optional pre-conference workshop with Greg Whitt of Drum for Change leading The Rhythm of Life: Drumming for Your Soul. Attendees will experience a hands-on, rhythm-based workshop and drum circle using a mix of hand drums and other instruments. By drumming and making music together, wellness and empowerment concepts will be activated using rhythm, song and movement.

This year’s edition is introducing two new areas that are free with tickets—an Ayurvedic Immersion Area sponsored by Integra Wellness for participants to learn more about using the wisdom of this ancient tradition; and a Play Card Intention Area sponsored by The Bag Lady for experiencing many different intention cards and decks.

“We are a collection of Charlotte’s best-kept secrets, brought together for two magical days,” Ives-Godwin says. “At SHiFT, you get the best of what our region has to offer, all in one place.”

Tickets include access to all of the workshops; experiential appetizers prior to each session; Ayurvedic Immersion and the Play Card Intention areas; the vending floor with 100-plus vendors and access to the reading floor (additional fee with more than 25 psychics/readers/practitioners); and many free customer experiences.

Cost: $35/Saturday, $30/Friday evening individually; $55/combo ticket. Location: 604 Doug Mayes Place (off I-85).  For more information including discounted tickets prior to Mar. 22 and full schedule of events, visit ShiftCharlotte.com.
