My Green House, co-owned by Kim DeLaney-Surratt and Chris Surratt, will celebrate the grand opening of their retail CBD dispensary location at 500 Church Street North, in Concord, beginning at 10 a.m. on March 2. The event will feature free giveaways and food in limited supplies and kickoff extended store hours and specials throughout the month.

Since late 2017, My Green House has operated as a successful online e-retailer.

While the legalization of cannabis is sweeping the country, only a few states are able to carry THC products for both recreational use and/or medical consumption. CBD is more welcoming by the majority of states. Both CBD and THC are two different, but well- known strains of the cannabis plant. Only the THC is the compound that has the psychoactive effect that produces a high feeling. Legal in North Carolina, CBD can be relaxing for many people, but will not get you high and has many medicinal properties.

DeLaney-Surratt, a cancer fighter and advocate for cannabis, started the company after a successful stem cell transplant in 2014. She has a focus on holistic, natural medicines and has been a voice in the community.
